Course Description

Miss Cara can hardly wait to introduce YOU to Julius Ceasar, one of the most-favored of Shakespeare's historical plays. Our video lectures will go scene by scene through the play, discuss context and style, give you fun insight into the Globe Theater, and more!

This 5 week unit also includes a study of rhetorical modes of persuasion. Ethos, pathos, and logos are on full display in this classic work, and a compare/contrast study of their use is both engaging & enlightening!

Finally, Shakespeare's Julius Ceasar serves as our introduction to the uniquely participatory genre of the play. Multi-media experiences are suggested in the course to bring this unit to life for 21st century students.

The course includes a vocabulary unit, reading comprehension quizzes, class work, and - of course - recorded video lectures to help create deeper understanding and engagement with the literature.
